Fish Therapy Bath
Fritz-Zyme #7 Nitrifying Bacteria
Mardel Copper Safe|
We at American Aquarium Products only sell a few Kordon Products that are unique and are not found in other companies.
Kordon is one of the better companies in aquarium/pond research and although we only sell a select few products, this is only because we only sell products we use in our maintenance business such as Methylene Blue and Herbal Ich Attack.
As for other Kordon products, we do not feel we need to duplicate excellent products such as SeaChem Prime by selling products such as Kordons Amquel Plus.
We also sell what is left of the Aquarium Products line of treatments including Quick Cure and Clout, was sold to Mardel, now owned by long time aquarium products innovators; Fritz Aquatics
Mardel has been around for many years (at least the 1970s) with many popular products, now with Quick Cure which has been recognized by many experienced hobbyists for years as one of the more reliable Ich treatments for freshwater and even marine fish.
Fritz Industries has now reached a royalty agreement with Sergeants Pet Care Products, Inc. for their Mardel and Aquarium Products (which includes the "Aquarium Products" line of products), so these are now available again along with more of the Fritz line of excellent products such as Fritz-Zyme nitrifying bacteria

METHYLENE BLUE (Kordon) 4 oz.- $4.99 Jump to Shopping Cart
Useful treatment in hospital tanks or as a double strength bath to treat fungal (including egg fungus), bacterial, and parasite infections.
Also useful as a bath for ammonia poisoning.
Can be used for transportation (shipping) of fish as it prevents disease spread and is a hemoglobin transfer agent allowing more oxygen in crowded environments.
Can be used with caution with many invertebrates such as crabs, shrimps, & snails. HOWEVER we do not recommend the use with most freshwater plants, and Methylene Blue should not be used with marine corals, Cephlapods, & anemones
To prepare a 30 minute Methylene Blue bath; I use 1 teaspoon 2.303% solution per 5 gallons (double dose) in a bath of aquarium water from the tank the fish you wish to treat came from.
We suggest using about a ½ gallon of water, however you may use less.
Measurement of the Methylene Blue does not need to be precise (although do not intentionally overdose more than double recommended dose, and even then this should only be used at double strength in fish baths of 30 minutes).
Make sure you keep the water in a warm area, as in a cold room the water temperature can drop rapidly which would stress the fish.
Do NOT pour this water back into your display aquarium when finished. This can be performed twice per day.

Sometimes treatment will take 10 days to fully irradiate infestations.
Carbon or other similar chemical filter media can be replaced after treatment is finished or added to the filter temporarily for 2 hours prior to each subsequent treatment then removed again to lower toxicity (correct mineralization and a pH over 7 is also important, see Aquarium Ich Treatment, Prevention). Cloudy Water is sometimes caused by minute particles suspended in the water. These particles can spoil the aquariums appearance and deprive plants of essential light to grow.
Crystal Clear is a that flocculant is scientifically formulated to coagulate (flocculate) minute particles together so they can be trapped by your aquariums filter.
COPPER SAFE (Copper Sulfate) 4 oz.- $6.39 Jump to Shopping Cart
(Treats up to 96 gallons)
Mardel CopperSafe is one of the best freshwater/saltwater copper remedies available with many years of aquarist experience behind this product. CopperSafe is a stabilized copper formula, unlike Aquarisol which we replaced with this product.
*CopperSafe has been at least temporarily discontinued by the manufacturer, consider:
SeaChem Cupramine from AAP While this copper requires more testing to maintain strength, it is also more easy to remove once treatment is finished and is more economical (definitely the copper of choice with marine fish as still an excellent choice for freshwater including ponds)
*Saltwater & Freshwater Copper Treatment
*Stabilized copper effectively treats external parasites
*Maintains a therapeutic level of copper safe for fish while remaining effective against parasites when used correctly.
*One dose treats for one month in most circumstances (marine tanks with large amounts of calcium based sands, coral skeletons, etc. may require additional treatments)
*An alternative to Aquarisol (which was discontinued by the manufacturer, "Aquarium Products"). HOWEVER if seeking Aquarisol, the more similar alternative is SeaChem Cupramine (please follow the link)
*NOT safe for ANY invertebrates!
Gasping for Air
Removal of Snails
Excellent for use in freshwater quarantine tank for new fish, especially when combined with Methylene Blue (bare tank with sponge filter and no gravel is best)
